Sanitary Measures during the UFI Global Congress

What are the documents needed to enter the Netherlands from aboard?

Before you travel, please consult the Government of the Netherlands website for the current travel rules in the Netherlands whether you are fully vaccinated or not.

Please find your country in the lists and check the requirements that apply for you.
If you wish to enter the Netherlands FROM the EU/Schengen area please read this checklist.

If you wish to enter the Netherlands OUTSIDE the EU/Schengen area please read this checklist.

Do I need to self-quarantine when entering the Netherlands?

Fully vaccinated non-EU travellers from the United States, the United Kingdom and other very high-risk areas no longer have to self-quarantine on arrival in the Netherlands as of September 22nd.

Alternatively, if you are travelling from a very high-risk country and you are not fully vaccinated OR you are vaccinated with a vaccine not on the list of approved vaccines by the Dutch government, you would need an invitation letter issued by our Host Rotterdam Ahoy and UFI to get exempted from the EU travel ban.

Please email us at events@ufi.org to request an invitation letter.

What are the requirements for proof of vaccination in the Netherlands?

Please check the requirements for proof of vaccination and the list of approved vaccines in the Netherlands here.

What are the basics rules I must comply when staying in the Netherlands?

Wash your hands often.
Stay at home if you have symptoms that may be caused by a COVID-19 infection and take a test.
Cough and sneeze into your elbow.
Use paper handkerchiefs and throw these away.

Do we have to keep 1.5m distance from each other during the UFI Global Congress?

Keeping one and a half meters away is no longer necessary in the Netherlands according to the current guidelines. We ask every attendee to handle this freedom responsibly.

Do I have to wear a mask during the UFI Global Congress?

In most places, you no longer have to wear a face mask. However, it is still mandatory in places where social distancing (1.5 m) is impossible for any person aged 13 and over (passenger transportation, public transportation, railway and metro stations, airports, and in aircraft).

How is the ventilation in the halls of Rotterdam Ahoy?

Rotterdam Ahoy has a ventilation system that complies with the guidelines drawn up for this by the RIVM. It is a state-of-the-art climate control system that regularly supplies the halls with 100% fresh air. This greatly reduces the risk of airborne contamination.

What hygiene measures will be taken at Rotterdam Ahoy?

All contact points (toilets, door handles, desks and more) throughout the venue will be cleaned with higher frequency. Also, sanitiser stations units are available at key contact point positions throughout the venue, such as entrances, catering areas and exits.

Do I need a special pass to enter the UFI Global Congress?

To enter the congress venue, a coronavirus entry pass will be mandatory for all attendees to prove that they are either fully vaccinated, have valid proof of recovery or a negative result from a coronavirus test taken less than 24 hours before entry. Everyone aged 13 and over will also have to show their ID along with their coronavirus entry pass.
Information about vaccination, PCR test and rapid testing

I am visiting the UFI Global Congress from abroad. What does “coronavirus entry pass” means for me?

Residents from EU countries can enter an event in the Netherlands with proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative test result using the EU Digital Covid Certificate (DCC).

The DCC is the European initiative to allow free travel within the EU. You will receive this digital certificate including a QR code if you come from one of the participating European Member States and you have been tested negative, have been fully vaccinated or have been demonstrably recovered of Covid-19.

Visitors from outside of Europe can use a paper certificate to proof that they are fully vaccinated if they wish to enter in an event in the Netherlands.

Can I enter the UFI Global Congress if I don’t have a valid DCC or valid proof of vaccination?

If you don’t have a Digital Covid certificate (DCC) or a valid proof of vaccination, you will need to show a negative test result not older than 24 hours to gain entrance to the Rotterdam Ahoy venue.

Will there be a COVID test location on-site at Rotterdam Ahoy during the UFI Global Congress?

Yes, attendees of the UFI Global Congress can have themselves tested on-site for free. Right next to the entrance venue, on the forecourt of Rotterdam Ahoy, a special test facility is being realized in collaboration with SpoedtestCorona, which is affiliated with Testing for Access.

Rapid tests can be scheduled online 2 weeks or less in advance via www.testenvoortoegang.org
Within approximately 15 minutes, the visitor will receive the results immediately. If the test result is negative, you can enter the building with the QR code.

Note: Search Europort Ahoy and select SpoedtestCorona as the test provider. We recommend you to schedule an appointment in advance.

Testing can also be done without an online appointment, but the visitor should then take into account that other appointments may have been scheduled, so that the waiting time can be slightly longer.
At the testing facility, visitors can be helped on-site with any questions on how to obtain the QR code in the CoronaCheck-app.

To make an appointment for the PCR tests at Ahoy Europort please use the following link: PCR test link

Booking times for the PCR tests are:

Is onsite test also possible for travelling back after the UFI Global Congress?

The free test at the congress venue is an antigen test. This is valid within the EU, which means that you can travel with it.
For travellers from outside the EU, a PCR test is mandatory for travelling.

For travellers from outside the EU, if you have to show a negative test to travel back to you country, then it needs to be a PCR test. These can also be performed on location, but cost €59.95. Please note, this test result is only known after 24 hours.
An appointment can be scheduled in advance for this at PCR test link
