Based remotely in the US, Jon Yahirun is currently a Customer Success Manager at Clarion Events, within the Digital Marketing Portfolio covering such events as Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas and Traffic & Conversion Summit in San Diego.
While he was active in planning events during his college days, his true journey in the exhibitions industry began during a US State Department fellowship year spent abroad in Germany from 2012-2013.
It was there where he interned at a small marketing and public relations company in Hannover; he was introduced to Deutsche Messe by working on clients’ participation at such shows as CeBIT and LIGNA, from arranging catering and hostesses, and thus it all started there.
Upon his return to the US, he held various positions until he landed on a fruitful role at B-FOR International under the mentorship of Björn Bieneck.
Jon gained incredible tradeshow and event experience at B-FOR, where he, at the height of this time there, was an operational project manager overseeing the USA Pavilions at Asia Fruit Logistica, ISDEF, IGTM and more & the international representative for Messe Berlin in the US and Canada.
Jon remains committed to the industry through his love of meeting new people. To him, there is no better feeling than being on-site at a live event that brings people together from every corner of the world.
Whether it’s contributing to an exhibition in sales, operations or customer service, he looks forward to continuing his career in the field.
He lives in Washington, DC not far from where he grew up in the US state of Maryland, where he enjoys trying new restaurants, learning new languages, hiking, swimming, traveling and karaoke.
The son of two Thai immigrants, he grew up eating delicious food and can make an incredible Pad Kee Mao or Pad Kra Pow that will blow your socks off.
