Biography:
Wing Chu oversees the research activities of the economists at the HKTDC. This includes the HKTDC Research’s Greater China Team, which is a dedicated unit with overall responsibility for monitoring and analysing all economic issues relating to Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, with a focus on any issues of particular relevance to Hong Kong's trade and business landscape. The team also tracks developments within a number of key industry sectors deemed to be of particular importance to Hong Kong’s economic development, including electronics, technology and professional services.

Wing Chu’s recent research projects included an assessment of the impact of changing US trade policies, an analysis of Chinese Mainland's outbound investment strategy, and a review of the regional e-commerce opportunities. He has also provided an overview of the opportunities arising from the continuing evolution of the Greater Bay Area and is currently conducting an ongoing appraisal of the increasing number of regional free trade agreements. Beyond this, he frequently leads his team in its collaborations with many of the leading economic institutions in Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and overseas as they jointly conduct research projects across a number of priority sectors.
