It's difficult to speak up about inequalities for women in the workplace. Men and women see the lack of women in leadership, disproportion numbers of women in junior roles, gender pay gaps, benevolent - and in some cases overt - sexism - but it can be extremely challenging to bring up these issues without being seen as an annoyance or 'not a team player.'
So, how can we make progress on fixing these issues if we can't talk about them without being labelled as an agitator?

The exhibition industry has been severely disrupted by the COVID19 outbreak in spring 2020 that caused lock-downs and prohibited face2face live events for long periods. Revenues of venues have been significantly reduced while proportional reduction of costs and investments have been a huge challenge. During this crucial period, the type of events and clients’ demands and priorities have changed. Restarting the operation of venues and new investments have to be re-evaluated regarding these new circumstances. However, event facilities need to be ready for the future.
In this session, we will collect the biggest threats and challenges that venues may face in the future and work on potential solutions to confront those in order to remain a key player in the industry and keep-up with the changing needs of their clients and their clients’ customers.
Experts will gather in groups of approx. 10 pax and deep dive in one of those key topics such as:
- Sustainability and the road to net zero carbon by 2050: How is our industry responding to the global movement towards a green economy and how is it performing in relation to achieving net zero carbon by 2050?
- Digital Disruption: How is the digital and technological advancement impacting business events in general and how did the venues evolve their product offer and services to keep up with the rapid change?
- Talents and Resources: what set of skills does the industry require? What are venues doing to attract and maintain talents?
- Cost and Pricing in light of current economic climate: Should venues raise their prices significantly just to stay afloat? Is there a one way to face inflation?
The outcome of each working group will then be shared with all attendees including best practices and perhaps success stories.

In addition, trending topics such as digitalization or sustainability remain significant. We will present and discuss key findings of the 2022 UFI Marketing Survey, share some international case studies, and find out in our joint discussion which trends matter most. We look into regions as well as on a global scale.
